Between Deshaies and Sainte-Rose
Nestled between turquoise waters, lush nature, and authentic villages, our location is ideal for discovering the treasures of northern Basse-Terre.

Just minutes away, explore:
- the magnificent Grande Anse beach,
- the famous Cousteau Reserve,
- tropical waterfalls and rivers,
- hiking trails in the heart of the rainforest.

Guadeloupe is an island full of contrasts and emotions. Here, every day can become an adventure: swimming in crystal-clear water, boat trips in the lagoon, exploring local markets, scuba diving, encountering whales and dolphins, or strolling through tropical gardens.

Sainte-Rose, an authentic and welcoming town
Located on the north coast of Basse-Terre, Sainte-Rose immediately captivates with its peaceful atmosphere, authenticity, and the richness of its natural environment. Formerly agricultural land, the town long relied on cotton, tobacco, and then sugarcane cultivation. Even today, this history remains part of the landscape and local identity. The Reimonenq Distillery and its Rum Museum are essential stops for discovering Guadeloupean traditions and the history of sugarcane.

A history deeply rooted in the island
It was in Sainte-Rose that the first French settlers, led by Jean Du Plessis d’Ossonville and Charles Liénard de l’Olive, landed in 1635.
The village, formerly called Grand-Cul-de-Sac and then Saint-Pierre, finally took the name Sainte-Rose in 1790.
Today, the town center pulsates with the rhythm of its inhabitants, the local market, and the small Creole shops where you'll find all the warmth and conviviality of Guadeloupe. The fishing port itself has an authentic and lively charm. Early in the morning, the fishermen return with fresh fish, lobsters and crabs in a simple and warm atmosphere.

The Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin, a natural treasure
Opposite Sainte-Rose lies one of Guadeloupe's most beautiful natural gems: the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin.
Designated a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, this vast protected lagoon is home to exceptional biodiversity: mangroves, wild islets, migratory birds, tropical fish, and coral reefs.
With its long coral barrier and shallow waters in countless shades of blue, this natural area offers absolutely magnificent scenery.
From Sainte-Rose, numerous excursions allow you to discover the islets, the mangroves, and the calm waters of the lagoon.

Between beaches and rainforest
Sainte-Rose also boasts some beautiful beaches perfect for relaxation :
- Cluny Beach,
- Amandiers Beach,
- Nogent Beach.
Perfect spots to enjoy the sun, tranquility, and gentle Caribbean atmosphere. Nature lovers and hikers will also be delighted.

Among the most beautiful walks in the region are :
- the Saut des Trois Cornes waterfall,
- the Cascade Bis waterfall, and
- the coastal path of Pointe Allègre.
These places offer a complete immersion in the rainforest, amidst rivers, lush vegetation, and refreshing waterfalls.

A moment of relaxation in Sofaïa
After a hike or a day trip, the Sofaïa pool is a must-see.
This natural hot spring, whose sulfurous water reaches approximately 31°C, is renowned for its relaxing and soothing properties. Highly appreciated by locals, it is one of the iconic landmarks of Sainte-Rose.

Culture, traditions, and the good life
The Guadeloupe Ecomuseum offers the opportunity to discover local medicinal plants as well as the history and traditions of the archipelago.
Between nature, Creole culture, idyllic beaches, and authenticity, Sainte-Rose is the perfect destination to experience Guadeloupe in a different way.

A place where you can take the time to enjoy, discover, and reconnect with what truly matters.
